I am currently having problems with this patch and I am hoping some one can help me out.

The way I installed

6.2 Install
Install reg game with kingdoms patched to 1.05
6.0 part 1
6.0 part 2
6.1 patch (have NOTHING ticked in installer options)
6.2 update (I had to watch the install process and as it installed I had to go into the stainless steel data folder and uncheck the read only attribute of the file so that 6.2 overwrites the files.)
6.2 mini patch
RR_RC_Full_Installer_Apri8.exe patch

unzip and install CAMPAIGN PATCH April 23 into the stainless steel 6 folder it should ask you to overwrite if done correctly.

copy and pasted Data_BGRIV_BygAI files into the Stainless steel data folder.

BGRIV_BygAI_GraculAI_020309 file Paste the data folder into C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\Data (install money fix if this mod is installed)

Copy and pasted money fix patch into SS data folder.

What is happening after I select a faction to play and hit the start button I get sent back to the Main Menu.

After uninstalling reinstallng 15 x I finally noticed by copying and pasting individual files from BygAI_GraculAI_020309 into the stainless steel data folder and launching the game each time, that the World file in patch 020309 when pasted into the stainless steel data folder and click overwrite or even copy and paste it each sub file that I get the Kick back to the Main Menu.  Having said that can I still play without putting the world file in the Main SS data folder or will I get crashes the game will launch and play but dont want to waste my time with a crash at a later time.

All you need to do is this:
Install reg game with kingdoms patched to 1.05
6.0 part 1
6.0 part 2
6.1 patch (have NOTHING ticked in installer options)

There is your basic ss6.1 install without bgr.

Now install the RRRC+BGRIV compilation(which includes 6.2) like this:

RR_RC_Full_Installer_Apri8.exe patch

unzip and install CAMPAIGN PATCH April 23 into the stainless steel 6 folder it should ask you to overwrite if done correctly.

***If you get a CTD on startup, please download the following file and put the contents in your Medieval II Total War folder***:

new_exe.rar

After installing, copy the SS6/symbols4.tga.dds and SS6/symbols7.tga.dds file to the C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data\banners folder

  • Default setting is TheSavageAI, and no BGRIV
  • To use BGR IV with TheSavageAI, copy the contents of the SS6/Data_BGRIV_TheSavageAI folder to the SS6/data folder
  • To use BGR IV with Byg's AI, copy the contents of the SS6/Data_BGRIV_BygAI folder to the SS6/data folder
  • To use BGR IV with Gracul's AI, copy the contents of the SS6/Data_BGRIV_GraculAI folder to the SS6/data folder
  • To remove BGR IV, copy the contents of the SS6/Data_BGRIV_REMOVE folder to the SS6/data folder

Copy and pasted money fix patch into SS data folder.

That's all you do, you had added 2 or 3 more steps than necessary.

Ps. I'm about to release an enhanced version of BGRIV for the compilation, so you could optionally try that  after doing the above.

EDIT: have now tidied up the downloads and instructions page to make things clearer. There were too many instructions for old outdated mods.
